About
Hypnotherapy
The subconscious mind holds the key to our behaviors, attitudes, and deepest desires. By accessing this part of the mind through hypnosis, it is possible to reprogram the way you think, eliminating negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones that can change your behaviors and dramatically improve your life.
During your private and confidential session, you will remain completely aware of everything that is going on around you. Hypnosis is a state of hyper-awareness, as opposed to sleep, where sounds are enriched, thoughts are clearer, and your ability to imagine and visualize are greatly enhanced. Many people describe it as a sensation of deep relaxation that leaves them feeling emotionally calm, mentally alert, and physically refreshed.
HOW
TO CHOOSE A HYPNOTHERAPIST
Look
at their credentials. Did they graduate from a State or nationally
accredited school? How many hours of instruction do they have? The
minimum is 300 hours. Did their training include a supervised
clinical residency program? To what other related organizations do
they belong? What are the requirements for membership in these
organizations? Do they have a business license? Insurance? Any
good therapist will happily answer these questions without
hesitation.
Of
course, your final decision will depend on the level of rapport
and trust you feel with the individual. Feeling comfortable with a
therapist lays the foundation for any healing process.

1. Myths, Misconceptions and Facts
When people think of hypnosis, images of clucking like a chicken, taking off articles of clothing in front of a live audience or revealing long held secrets come to mind. However, a hypnosis stage show and a therapeutic setting share few similarities and the old myths and misconceptions about hypnosis are gradually giving way to proven, scientifically sound applications. Today the use of hypnosis is seen in a variety of fields including medicine, dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports, business and education. Most people have a limited knowledge and understanding of hypnosis and the dramatic results that can be achieved through hypnotherapy. I would like to dispel some of the myths and answer some of the most frequently asked questions about hypnosis.

2. Techniques & Technology
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a form of energy psychology, based on the premise that every negative emotion is caused by a disruption in the body's energy system. Just as acupuncture uses needles to rebalance energy, EFT follows the same idea, but accomplishes that balancing without the needles. The results are powerful, fast and long lasting and anyone can learn this simple and effective process in only one session. Although the name implies emotional healing, I have personally seen this technique lower or eliminate physical discomfort as well.
